Just 6 months after his acclaimed “Inside My Soul” release, Chillin Music’s ace-in-the-hole, Alvaro Ernesto, does it for his homeland with “Peruvian Sound System”. This time, Chillin enlists the remix services of none other than, Mr. Oliver Klein and J.A.M.O.N. This beast of a release is certain to lure the lovers of the late-night.

Alvaro takes us on a primetime rollercoaster ride of seductive synth stabs and a rolling bassline that is apt to destroy any bassbin. All aboard as the track elevates the platform with a pulsing percussive rhythm aimed straight for the peak hours. Make sure you’re strapped in because once Ernesto releases the steam, this behemoth unleashes a whirlwind of synth sensuality. “Peruvian Sound System” further emphasizes Ernesto’s regard as an All Star in the realms of all things house.

One of the most sought after producers in the biz, Oliver Klein, destroyed dancefloors with his 2001 mix of “Rheinkraft” on Maelstrom Records. Gaining international recognition from the tops in the industry, Klein’s name has been synonymous with quality ever since. His releases on Platipus, Fuel, Virgin, Cream and Great Stuff have been championed by the likes of Seb Fontaine, Judge Jules and Pete Tong. True to form, Klein showcases his signature deep, funky techno in his rendition of Ernesto’s “Peruvian Sound System”. Provocative rhythms incessantly drive the track along with flawless arrangement of the chords as it culminates with a refined break that brings it to auditory bliss. Two words… Oliver Klein!

Not a nu-jack, J.A.M.O.N. (1/2 of the Nujaxx duo) has been DJing since the late ‘80’s. Some of us weren’t even born yet! A true artist by nature, J.A.M.O.N is a versatile drummer, keyboardist, bassist, vocalist and MC. His recent outing, ‘Off the Chain’ on Demarkus Lewis’ Grin Music, along with previous releases on pinup, Grooveland, licksamba, Spatula City and Drop Music have solidified J.A.M.O.N’s role in the game of house. Much like his DJ style, his rework is ‘like a rhythmic punch-in-the-face-wake-up call commanding you to dance, move, and breathe’. This is a DJs dream to mix as its layers provide a 9 minute textured canvas that teases the senses with filtered chords and interwoven, swirling pads. Make no mistake this one goes deeeeeeep but has more sway than a canoe on the high sea. Big up!

„Music is our Passion“

Manuel Rodriguez from Magdeburg and Richard McCutchan from Braunschweig have been friends for ages and been making music together sporadically since the beginning of the ’90s.

At the end of 2007, the project “Coca Morales & Sambo Sumerlin” was born, which kicked off with some gigs in Bali (Indonesia).

In 2009, they changed their name to Rodriguez & McCutchan.

Their musical development has been heavily influenced by the diverse sounds playing at the Stammheim discotheque (Aufschwung-Ost) and the Berlin club scene.

The sound of the two artists can best be described as distinctive, permeating, sometimes driving minimal tech, tech house and techno beats.

During their performances, they are always very much in touch with their audience, never losing contact with the crowd.

For them, it is out of the question to simply mix tracks together. Instead, they fine-tune each track to the max in order to get the most out of the mix – according to the motto “surprise and hypnotize”.

Chillin Music drops in with a sonic boom for their 26th release and just in time for the WMC March Madness. Our favorite Peruvian purveyor of swanky house music darkness, Alvaro Ernesto, has been blazing since his seminal release on Mexico’s BIT Records in 2008 up to his recent releases on Documenti Sonori and Gastspiel. Ernesto’s production could delight the main rooms of Mansion or SET or the tighter venues of D’Vine and the Chesterfield with his deep, tribal rhythms over rolling bass lines. This latest effort, “Inside My Soul,” is no different. It’s deliciously heavy on the low end, with a well-paced build and effective vocal sample stabs leading the way. It’s a prime mover.

A pair of powerful remixes come from the man of the moment, Pezzner (Freerange, Urban Torque), who rebrandishes “Inside My Soul” in his unique, pulsating style. It’s a version filled with rising energy climaxing in a melodic synth solo and rhythmic vocal hits. Perfectly placed chord stabs lift the layered soundscape of effected elements in pure Pezzner polish. A full version and a dirty, rumbling dub are presented here for your approval.

The man behind Chillin Music, Rob Slac, has been on a deep mission with remixes for Native Soul, OM, Tight Recordings and Onethirty in the past year. Slac’s remix of “Inside My Soul” features his infectious tech-funk balanced by a distorted bassline and brilliant sweeps. The mix builds into a dark, twisted monster of loopy funk and cut-up voices.

Orlando’s Chillin Music gets to the nature of things with its 25th release – “Essence” by Filtered Boogie. With three new members to the Chillin family we experience the quintessential evolution of Chillin over the past 5 years.

Filtered Boogie, hailing from Toronto, is one of these new additions to Chillin’s sonic fold. Filtered Boogie has recently appeared on

Queep Organic, Open Bar and 2600 Records. This interesting new producer serves a sultry offering of chilled-out deep house perfect for the lover of elegant layers and just the right amounts of “boogie”.

Upping the tempo a bit with a deep-funk rendition of “Essence” is the Netherland’s own Tommy Largo. Featured on Fabric and OM mixed CDs, his mix will surely please the aficionados of Amenti, Lost My Dog, and Tango to name a few of his past collaborators. Well structured elements of shuffled percussion mixed with filtered chords add to the pure funk of Largo’s mix.

Since making his debut under the moniker of Paper in 2006 on Regular Music, Pablo Bolivar has mesmerized crowds north, south, east and west. Pablo’s rework is a dark, seductive journey into the cavernous trenches of late night bliss leaving no question as to why he’s found his way on to Renaissance and NRK compilations. Looking for the roots of deepness? Bolivar’s “Essence” hits the core with a deep bottom-end and piques the senses with quality effects that soothe the soul.

For nearly twenty years, Rob Slac has been droppin’ the goods in the DJ/producer abundant city of Orlando and cities around the world. Whether in the studio or on the dance floor, it is easy to witness his intense level of passion for music of all genres. It is that burning desire that has set the tone for Slac. The questions, “What more can I do for the scene? How else can I contribute to what I feel so passionate about?” kept arising. This would be the birth of Chillin Music!

In 2004, Chillin Music emerged on the scene with a prescription for success – “Working Together for the Music”. Five years later, Chillin has evolved into one of the premiere independent dance music record labels throughout the world. Chillin releases include work by heavyweights Johnny Fiasco, Chuck Love, the Littlemen, Sasse, Pezzner, Olivier Desment, Q Burns Abstract Message and many other industry notables. Through his own production efforts, Rob has appeared on OM Records, FFWD, OneThirty, Tight Recordings, and Chillin Music. Currently, his plate is getting crowded with commissions of work.

As a DJ/producer Rob has experienced all aspects of the music industry. This is the foundation of his mantra, “Working Together for the Music”. Slac’s wish is that “through music we can all form a common ground where we unite and become one in a shared experience”.

Chillin Music returns for its 24th offering, featuring yet another contribution from recurring Swiss producer Replika. Replika’s intricate deep house sound has found itself on labels such as Mimosa, Nightlife, and Gourmet and his repeated work with the Chillin label has aroused much acclaim. Here Replika creates “Devil May Cry”, a song that could deliver us from evil while tempting us with a steady flow of suave, permeating house music. It’s an effortless seduction of congas, synth stabs, and skillfully arranged vocal snippets.

French studio bod Kirby provides the first of three remixes, throwing down a quiver of deep funk and tech-house with a subtle layer of acid. It’s a lush, atmospheric yet driving remix that will propel the mood of many dancefloors. Kirby has enjoyed much success as of late with tunes for Nordic Trax, Darkroom Dubs, Elevation, and Onethirty … this fine remix just improves the quality of his growing repertoire.

Neighbour, coming off varied productions such as Super Hi-Fi’s “Drunk On The Funk” and tracks on his own Homebreakin’ imprint, cuts back on the atmosphere with his remix and creates a tightly woven funky house groover. Delicious percussion and squelchy synth action absolutely bring this cut to the fore.

Lastly, Chillin Music resident expert John Stuart takes us to the deeper side with his indicative use of vocal elements and meditative synth repetitions. Buzzy basslines and bouncy rhythms lay underneath adding bump to any nightclub sound system.

Sasse – Live from Berlin.  This episode brings us an exclusive DJ mix from the man behind Mood Music based in Berlin.  Sasse aka Freestyle Man has worked with us before most recently on CM-20 The Broadway Flow EP with a remix of Rob Slac’s Far East Flow and also on CM-16 Mr. Skippy  with another stellar remix with more in the works…

Born in Finland in 1973, Klas Lindblad has been djing since the end of the 80s, dwelling first thru pop music and eventually finding electronic music in the early 90s. He was running one of the first house clubs in Turku, Finland from 92-96 and was a regular guest at the major parties in the Finnish electronic scene.

At this time he also started to work on production and soon the first releases came out on Sähkö/Puu as Freestyle Man. His early work has been considered a milestone in the Scandinavian house sound and the original 12-inches are still very much sought after.

In 1996 he started Moodmusic with the first release, “Sasse Presents…”, a 4 track EP with influences from NYC and Detroit house. Instantly creating a havoc on European dance floors, the following releases put Moodmusic on the map of recognized house labels with the distinctive sound and top-notch A&R abilities of Sasse and his close-circuit artist roster.

Fast forward to 1999 and Sasse leaves Finland for Frankfurt am Main to start a residency at the famous Robert Johnson club. He is running his highly successful “Finnish First“ nights there from 2000 – 2003 after which he decides to move to Berlin.

The early releases from Henrik Schwarz on Moodmusic culminates in 2003 with the birth of Sunday Music, a musical platform for Sasse and Henrik productions. At the same time Sasse started Must! Records for more obscure disco, italo and chicagohouse edits.

In 2005 he builds his beloved BlackHead Studios in Prenzlauer Berg with companions Ewan Pearson and Filippo “Naughty” Moscatello and starts to work on his first artist album. The album “Made Within The Upper Stair Of Heaven” is released on Moodmusic in 2006 to critical acclaim and the singles, “Soul Sounds”, “Loosing Touch” (featuring the distinctive vocals of Kiki) and “Up To You” makes waves on dance floors around the globe.

In 2007 a special collaboration called “It’s All True” between Tracey Thorn and the production team of Sasse, Darshan Jesrani and Ewan Pearson was featured on Tracey’s last album, “Out Of The Woods”. The single release featured remixes from Martin Buttrich, Kris Menace and Escort and was one of the summer tunes of 2007.

During the week Sasse is nailed on his studio chair working under one of his many pseudonyms but starting on Friday he transforms into his first love, the djing. Over the last 5 years, the success of his productions and remixes brought him to nearly all-good House-clubs worldwide. Doing his bi-monthly residencies at Berghain/Panorama Bar and Weekend he keeps the Berlin club land busy.

He has just finished his 2nd studio album called “Toinen” ( “second” in Finnish) which will see the day of light in October 2008 on Moodmusic. He’s also currently remixing Nortern Lite, Jori Hulkkonen, Garnica and Phonogenic.
