Chillin Music drops in with a sonic boom for their 26th release and just in time for the WMC March Madness. Our favorite Peruvian purveyor of swanky house music darkness, Alvaro Ernesto, has been blazing since his seminal release on Mexico’s BIT Records in 2008 up to his recent releases on Documenti Sonori and Gastspiel. Ernesto’s production could delight the main rooms of Mansion or SET or the tighter venues of D’Vine and the Chesterfield with his deep, tribal rhythms over rolling bass lines. Our next release EVEN FURTHER – Pezzner remix has been tapped by DJ Harri (resident @ Sub Club – Glasgow, Scotland) as the RECORD of the WEEK on Ministry of Sounds – Faith Fanzine radio cast. Check out the story Read the rest of this entry »
Hailing from Switzerland, DJ/producer Replika has built quite an impressive CV with tracks on the esteemed labels Conya, Headtunes, Pesto, and Kolour. Most recently you may recall his enthusiastically received remix of Atnarko and Jevne’s “Get On Down” via Onethirty Recordings. With this latest offering on Chillin Music, Replika presents “Even Further”, an accomplishment of subtle deep house for discerning dancefloors. The label describes “Even Further” as “entering the center where our consciousness dances with the sounds we love.” Heady stuff. But we hear electric snaps above a gentle drive, and melodic, ringing, bell-like keys hugged by a persistent low end. It’s smooth house at its most blissful.
Chillin Music present their twentieth release – The Broadway Flow EP – a record delivering the deeper sounds of house from a fine selection of American artists, plus a special European talent in the mix.
Sleazy McQueen’s “Trains Over Broadway” throws up a twisted, metallic melody taking the listener to the darkened depths of dance music. Techno influences suck the listener down a bumpy rail track, with warped effects hitting side-on, but always keeping true to the four-on-the-floor house channels. Get your fix honed on this Orlando producer with his music appearing on Bananza, Headtunes, and the UK’s Bear Funk in the upcoming months.

Jacob London’s Pezzner takes a smoother ride on “Broadway” in his remix duties. As the track erupts from the rhythmic hollows with undercut keys and subtle percussive elements we’re reminded, full-face, of the dance-floor powers of deep house music. A glowing gem from the Seattle based musical all-rounder.
Chillin Music label boss Rob Slac steps up next with an original production – the funked-up, deep-tech number “Far East Flow”. Rob is on sizzling form yet again, opening the door for Berlin based Sasse – the Finnish maestro of Moodmusic – to deliver a drifting, cosmic remix of the track. This is a most welcome return for the Chillin collaborator as he gives us his take on the house sound across the pond.
With all four of the producers involved here at the head of their station it’s another crowning release to add to the Chillin Music oeuvre.

Up until 2008 Dave Pezzner was virtually unknown to the electronic dance music community, aside from his works in the duo “Jacob London” (Classic Music, Doubledown, U-Freqs). For 16 years he cut his chops with partner Bob Hansen, creating eccentric house and break beat rhythms often crossing the lines between bad-ass, funky and hilarious.
